The Site provides general information for educational purposes only. It is not financial, investment, legal, tax, insurance, accounting, cybersecurity, medical or other professional advice, and it does not create any professional relationship between you and us. RiskStance is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority or any other financial regulator. Intellectual Property Rights

Unless stated otherwise, we or our licensors own all intellectual property rights in the Site, including its text, articles, graphics, layout, logos, the RiskStance name, frameworks such as the “Assess, Reduce, Solve” method and the underlying code. What you may do

  • View and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use.
  • Quote short extracts for commentary, criticism or review, with a clear credit and a link to the original page.
  • Link to our pages, provided that you do not suggest endorsement or link from a site that is unlawful, misleading or offensive.

What you may not do

Without our written permission you may not republish, reproduce, sell, license, translate, distribute or create derivative works from our content, or use our name, logo or frameworks commercially. To request permission, email hi@riskstance.com.

AI-Assisted Content

Our articles are produced with the help of AI tools and are written, edited and reviewed by people. You acknowledge that AI-assisted content may contain errors or omissions even after human review, and that you are responsible for verifying anything important with official sources and professionals before relying on it. Our Editorial Policy explains our process in detail.

Submissions, Guest Articles and Feedback

If you send us an article, idea, comment, correction or other material (“Submission”), you confirm that it is your own work or that you have the right to share it, that it does not infringe anyone’s rights or break the law, and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge. You keep ownership of your Submission, but you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, edit, publish, adapt and promote it on the Site and in connection with our business, with credit where appropriate. We have no obligation to publish any Submission, and we may edit or remove it at any time. Paid, sponsored or affiliate arrangements must be disclosed to us in advance.

Advertising, Affiliate Links and Third-Party Content

The Site may display third-party advertisements and banners, include affiliate links and carry sponsored content, all of which will be identifiable. We may earn revenue from them. Advertisers and merchants are independent third parties, and we do not control, endorse or take responsibility for their products, services, claims or websites. Any dealings you have with them, including purchases, are solely between you and them and are subject to their terms. Information about cookies and advertising data is in our Privacy and Cookie Policy.

Links to Other Websites

The Site contains links to third-party websites and resources. We provide them for convenience and do not review or control them. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy, security or privacy practices, and a link does not mean that we endorse the website.

Accuracy and Availability

We work to keep the Site accurate, secure and available, but we do not guarantee that it will be error-free, uninterrupted or free from viruses. Content may be out of date, and rules differ between the UK, US, EU and other countries. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the Site, with or without notice, for maintenance, security, legal or business reasons.

Copyright Complaints and Takedown

We respect the rights of others. If you believe that content on the Site infringes your copyright or other rights, email hi@riskstance.com with your name and contact details, a description of the work, the page address of the content, a statement that you believe the use is unauthorised, and a statement that your information is accurate. We will review the notice and act promptly, which may include removing the content. We may terminate access for repeat infringers.

Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights under UK consumer law, or the law of your country of residence, are not affected.

Subject to the above, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.
  • We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Site or its content, including loss of income, profit, savings, business, data or goodwill, or any indirect or consequential loss.
  • We are not liable for the acts or omissions of advertisers, affiliates or other third parties, or for events beyond our reasonable control, such as outages, cyber attacks or failures of third-party services.
  • Where we are found liable to you for a loss arising from the Site, which is provided free of charge, our total liability will not exceed £100 or the equivalent in your currency.

Indemnity for Business Users

If you use the Site for business purposes, you agree to compensate us for losses, claims and costs arising from your breach of these Terms or your unlawful use of the Site. This clause does not apply to consumers.

Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or block your access to the Site at any time, without notice, if we reasonably believe that you have broken these Terms or the law, or that your use harms the Site, other users or our advertising partners. Clauses that by their nature should continue, including intellectual property, liability and governing law, will survive termination.

Privacy and Cookies

We handle personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and PECR, as explained in our Privacy and Cookie Policy. Non-essential cookies, including advertising and analytics cookies, are used only with your consent, which you can manage at any time through the cookie settings.

Using the Site From Outside the UK

The Site is operated from the United Kingdom, and we make no claim that its content is appropriate or lawful in every country. If you access it from elsewhere, you are responsible for complying with your local laws. Nothing on the Site is an offer or solicitation in any place where it would be unlawful. You must not use the Site where doing so would breach applicable sanctions or export laws.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Site, our business or the law. The updated version applies from the date shown at the bottom of this page, and your continued use of the Site means that you accept it. Please check this page regularly. For material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you.

General

  • Entire agreement: these Terms, together with the policies linked above, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Site.
  • Severability: if any part is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
  • No waiver: a delay or failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it.
  • Assignment: we may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms. You may not transfer yours without our written consent.
  • Third parties: no one other than you and us has the right to enforce these Terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Site, including non-contractual disputes, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in another country, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in your home courts and to rely on the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country. If you have a complaint, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally.
